Dear Band Directors,
The school year is ending and next year's marching season will be here before you know it. The Copiah Marching Festival will be held October 2, 2021 and I would like to take this opportunity to invite you and your band to participate in this year’s festival. If you are interested, please fill out the form under the Band forms section on the website. Also, some of your school districts require you to submit the entry form one month prior to the date of the competition, so please get yours in ASAP to your school board and to us.
The categories that are judged include: Band, Drum Major, Percussion, Guard, Majorette, and Dance Lines. Trophies are given out to each of these categories including Best Band in Class, Best Drum Major in Class, Best Percussion in Class, Best Guard in Class, Best Majorette in Class, Best Dance Line in Class and the Best Band of the Day Small class and Large class. Classes are broken down into Small and Large class according to the horn line size of your band.
Small Class- Horn line 50 or less Large Class- Horn line 51 or greater
If you don’t wish to be judged you can come for comments only rating.
This will be our 44th year of hosting this marching festival. Also, there is a letter from the MHSAA office indicating that this is a sanctioned event. We are very appreciative of Mr. Hinton letting us again compete between the private and public schools.
A hospitality room will also be provided and a loaded concession stand. We hope that you will eat with us and help support this festival so that it can prosper for the future. Warm up areas will be provided.
